Directory and search service
Pros Close By provides a directory and search tool intended to help users discover service providers. We are not a service provider, employer, agent, broker, insurer, licensing authority, or party to any agreement between a user and a provider. We do not process or guarantee service bookings, payments, quotes, or project outcomes.
Listings and rankings
Listings may be created from provider-supplied information, public sources, third-party services, or manual research, and some listings have not been claimed by the provider. Information may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Inclusion, ordering, badges, and search placement are not endorsements, guarantees, certifications, or statements that a provider is licensed, insured, independent, available, or suitable for a particular job.
Rankings may consider factors such as service relevance, proximity, reviews, experience, and available signals about business ownership. These factors and methods may change. We do not accept responsibility for decisions made in reliance on a listing or ranking.
Your responsibility when hiring
You are responsible for evaluating a provider and the proposed work. Before hiring, verify identity, licensing, insurance, permits, references, qualifications, pricing, availability, warranties, and written project terms. Use appropriate caution before sharing personal information, granting property access, or making payment.
Third-party services
The site may link to provider websites, telephone services, Google Maps, and other third-party products. We do not control and are not responsible for those services, their content, availability, security, or privacy practices.
Our search uses Google Maps Platform. By using features that incorporate Google Maps content, you also agree to be bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You may use the site only for lawful, personal, and legitimate business-discovery purposes. You may not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, submit false information, impersonate another person or business, scrape or bulk-download content, misuse provider contact information, or use the service to harass, defraud, or violate the rights of others.
Intellectual property
The Pros Close By name, site design, original text, software, and other original materials are owned by Pros Close By or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Business names, trademarks, third-party content, and provider materials belong to their respective owners. Limited personal use of the site does not transfer any ownership rights.
Corrections and removal requests
Providers and users may report inaccurate information or request review of a listing by contacting us. We may edit, suspend, or remove listings at our discretion and may request reasonable evidence before changing business information.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage. We do not warrant that any provider will respond, quote, perform work, or meet expectations.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pros Close By and its owners, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, property damage, personal injury, disputes with providers, or losses arising from use of or inability to use the site or services obtained from a provider. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes and availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site and may update these terms. Continued use after revised terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute not subject to a different requirement under applicable law will be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in New Jersey.
